MANGALORE BUNS: The bready, airy texture & the sweetness blows your mind away.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups maida flour
2 ripe bananas (peeled & mashed)
2 tbsp ghee
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 cup sugar
1/4 cup curd (yogurt)
1/8 tsp jeera ( optional )
1/2 tsp salt
oil for deep frying
Method:
Sieve maida, baking powder & salt together. Add curd, jeera, sugar and bananas in it. Grease your palms and kneed them to a soft dough and make a big ball. Cover and keep aside for 8 hrs in the fridge. Make smaller balls and and roll them into small circles, slightly thicker & smaller than puris. Drop them in hot oil one by one and fry them till golden brown evenly.
Drain on an absorbent paper. Can be stored in a air tight box for 2 to 3 days.
